Weaving with Homespun Saori style

There is a style of weaving called Saori. Some would even call it a philosophy or an expressive way of weaving. I will not go into all the history of Saori. There is much information on the internet that can describe the idea much better than I can. I will say that I do like the look of Saori handwoven garments. I also like their belief that there is no "Wrong" way of weaving. With this style of weaving, you can have uneven selvedges, loops, strings, fiber hanging out of your fabric. It's a freeform style of weaving where there is no pattern. You create as you go. It is also very colorful. I decided to weave a Saori style scarf. Occasionally, I would add bits of roving here and there to give it a very textured look. 

This scarf led me to my next adventure...spinning! I told myself and my husband that I am a weaver and have no desire to spin. Just give me the yarn and I will weave, I told him. I also said I never want a floor loom and I never want a spinning wheel. I have a floor
loom and love it and I desperately want a spinning wheel. I decided to spin up some roving using the drop spindle. There areYouTube 
videos as well as Interweave, Craft Daily and Craftsy videos on how to drop spindle. I absolutely love spinning and it is so fun to be able to weave with the yarn that you created. I also really love that 
when you weave Saori Style, your yarn can be thick and thin.

I encourage everyone to google Saori and or look up Saori groups on Ravelry. One thing I will mention is that I do not believe in all the philosophy side of Saori and I do not believe you need to spend 
$2,000 on a Saori style loom. Their looms are only 2 shafts. Saori 
can be done on a rigid heddle loom and floor loom. I purchased my 24" 4 shaft floor loom for $200. I did get a great deal on my loom 
but there are deals out there. So, without further ado, here are some pictures.
